The issue at hand:

When following the guide, I have no issues with booting or post install, however there is one issue, primarily with MacOS High Sierra and the Nvidia Web Drivers. When following the guide, I do understand that the Nvidia Web Drivers will be needed, however there is an issue with getting the correct drivers.

By following the guide, you end up with a High Sierra install version that doesn't have compatible Web Driver versions (cant remember exactly which version number it was, but every web driver installer I used failed.) This causes the Pascal Series cards (and maybe Maxwell cards too not sure) to be undetected by the OS.

In order to fix this problem, after installing your hack and finishing post-install, it is needed that you update High Sierra to a newer version (as of right now, MacOS High Sierra will update to version 17G14033 by default through the app store.)

After doing so, you need to download the proper drivers for your version by checking your exact install version (About This Mac > Click on Version > Copy version serial). I recommend getting the drivers from Tonymac as they already have a large compilation of web drivers ready for download. (https://www.tonymacx86.com/nvidia-drivers/) In my case I downloaded macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra (17G14033), ran the installer, and reboot. This fixed my issue and the dGPU was detected immediately.

I think that this should be included as a tip somewhere in the guide, either in troubleshooting or post-install.

Hope this helps people out in the future!
