How about WP comments based on Disqus? #21

Hello! I'm dealing with a WordPress site I've created for training teachers of Italian as second language. I've grouped them through a Slack team and I've installed your Slack Notifications plugin, to receive notifications for new posts and new comments (that is all we need). By the way, in the WP site there's the Disqus plugin, that enhance the commenting system, and I've noticed that Slack Notifications plugin doesn't work with Disqus. In the meantime I've deactivated Disqus (and got back to WP original comments). Of course, now everything works fine. But... we're very sorry about that. Since Disqus is very popular, I'm asking if you might consider to integrate it into Slack Notifications. Thanks for all your work (and for your attention).

Hello Gerard, Unfortunately, I can't help you with that, and let me explain to you why.

The Disqus plugin embeds an external form, although it is not an iframe the processing of the comment data is done on their server. So each time someone is leaving a comment, no hook is fired on your website.

However there is an option called "Syncing" on your WordPress plugin settings page, try enabling it and it will sync your Disqus comments to WordPress and it might to the trick.

Please try it and let me know if it worked?

Thanks, Dor. I tried, just gave a shot, but didn't solve the problem. This can be because of my poor experience in dealing with APIs and stuff like that. But I'm gonna give another try.

I'm sorry, but i don't think i can help you in this case as this is an external script.

I'll try contacting Disqus's support to see if the maybe have some kind of JS hooks.
