GPU swap? #102

Hi :)

I have an iMac12,2 laying around that unfortunately hosts a Radeon HD 6970M, preventing it from running Catalina through your patcher. On the other hand. I also retrieved a Radon 4850 from an older iMac11,1 which can run Catalina through your patcher.

Could I just install the 4850 in the 12,2 and then use the patcher to run Catalina on this Frankenstein of an iMac?

The thread you linked is very interesting but mostly looks at replacing the GPU of iMacs with GPUs from non-apple computers. I couldn't find any useful information for my case.

I guess I will just try and report here what results I get. I was wondering if there was anything in how the patch is designed that would prevent my idea/project from even have a chance to be successful. Tx -a-
