Hi guys. I'm newbie in Mac community. I have old macmini3.1 with installed Mac OS X El Capitan. I install optibay with Intel SSD instead of optical drive. Almost week I can't install Catalina and Mojave. Problems are similar. I has download Catalina Patcher and create bootable USB. After that I do all by video tutorial from http://dosdude1.com/catalina/. And stuck on timecode 18:15. At this point I have window with message "Unable to install.. blah-blah-blah". I Check logs and found message about "Core.pkg can't be verified". I boot my El Capitan and Check Core.pkg from USB drive: cd /Volumes/CatalinaBoot/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/SharedSupport/ open InstallESD.dmg cd /Volumes/InstallESD/Packages/ pkgutil --check-sign Core.pkg

Output is: Package "Core.pkg": Status: package is invalid (checksum did not verify)

After that I run pkgutil --check-sign SecureBoot.pkg

And output is: Package "SecureBoot.pkg": Status: signed Apple Software Certificate Chain:

  1. Software Update SHA1 fingerprint: 75 86 00 B2 79 B3 ED 1D B5 52 46 5B 17 63 E5 89 87 85 D5 73

  2. Apple Software Update Certification Authority SHA1 fingerprint: E3 30 E5 04 00 4B D2 5C 45 80 0A F2 D5 1B 03 D5 77 27 B7 01

  3. Apple Root CA SHA1 fingerprint: 61 1E 5B 66 2C 59 3A 08 FF 58 D1 4A E2 24 52 D1 98 DF 6C 60

After that I mount InstallESD.dmg from Install macOS Catalina.app that was downloaded by Catalina Patcher and check Core.pkg. Output is: Package "Core.pkg": Status: signed Apple Software Certificate Chain:

  1. Software Update SHA1 fingerprint: 75 86 00 B2 79 B3 ED 1D B5 52 46 5B 17 63 E5 89 87 85 D5 73

  2. Apple Software Update Certification Authority SHA1 fingerprint: E3 30 E5 04 00 4B D2 5C 45 80 0A F2 D5 1B 03 D5 77 27 B7 01

Is it correct that first Core.pkg is invalid? Thank you.

Sorry guys. I found solution. First one I was create bootable USB drive with El Capitan and install OS from it. After that I was create new bootable for Mojave and successfull install OS from it I think problem was in my initial El Captitan
