Someone in this French YouTube video commented that this extension should be available in French:
(Sure, doesn't seem like anyone else wants it, but not a bad idea tbh.)
Though there is a language option in Showdown, it appears to only be for chat. Everything else is left in English, hence the existence of this Chrome extension that changes everything about Showdown's UI into French.
Probably the most massive part about this is having to translate each Pokémon's name and ability/item/move names & descriptions. (Massive as in the amount of translation work required, though a lot of the names in different languages are available on the move's Bulbapedia page, and increasing the extension's file size.)
Could use a library like react-i18next to render the strings in the UI. Seems pretty straightforward in terms of raw implementation (the bitch work being the actual translations, of course).
The source code for the aforementioned extension is available here. Alternatively, could see if we could access this extension's translations through Showdown and use them if available (this would help minimize the bundle size, but would only be for French, obviously — could be a short-term offering though).
