We're aware of the severe lagginess when performing any action in the Honkdex in v1.2.1 & v1.2.2.
While the Honkdex is still functional, the lag is pretty annoying ngl. Fortunately, this issue is to let you know we have successfully addressed the lag by optimizing the Pokémon forme options builder & will be available in the next version. (Will be auto-closed once the next version's PR is merged.)
