Unable to connect with Fabric SQL endpoint using az-cli credentials with version 5.2.0

Describe the bug

Using Microsoft.Data.SqlClient version 5.2.0 I'm no longer able to auth with Fabric using AAD credentials. The same test-program works using version 5.1.5.

Expected behavior

Create a Fabric Warehouse or Lakehouse, note the SQL endpoint for your Fabric Workspace

In your shell:

SQL_ENDPOINT=<something>.datawarehouse.fabric.microsoft.com dotnet run

When this works it should print something like:
