Blazor WASM apps should display an error that the current browser isn't supported #32410

Closed eerhardt closed 11 months ago

eerhardt commented 3 years ago

Describe the bug

When trying to run a Blazor WASM app on a freshly installed VM, it fails to load and appears to hang. It is stuck on the "Loading...." screen.

This is because I was using the Legacy Edge (which is installed by default on Azure VMs).

To Reproduce

  1. Create a new Azure VM in DevTest Labs
  2. Install VS
  3. Create a new Blazor WebAssembly app
  4. F5

Exceptions (if any)

The web page appears to hang and says "Loading...".

In the developer console log, I see SCRIPT1002: SCRIPT1002: Syntax error.
