Unable to debug on iOS 18 device, Xcode 15.4, lots of warnings #24835

Description

When debugging on a physical iOS 18 device, breakpoints are not being hit. The following message is what is shown:

Further, on app start, seeing the following warnings on the debug console - unclear if they are related:

Why was this closed? According to the original post this is happening in XCode 15.4

Also, I am experiencing this and I do not have xcode 16 installed.

@vchelaru xcode 15.4 doesnt support iOS 18, probably why VS just hangs.

VS should have better handling of this though, and stop the build and explain the issue

Honestly tho, I don’t know what the Maui communities take is on being able to release for iOS 18. Consumers are updating their OS’es, so the expectation that we have to wait, till maybe November, is a little puzzling. Do we not release apps till then? What do we do in the meantime?

In my case I am not deploying to iOS 18.0, I'm deploying to 17.5.1

Because I'm getting the same error as you are: Requested but did not find extension point with identifier ... I assumed this error was related to the problem.

That’s partially my point tho - with this issue, we are still unable to deploy to the stores without a viable resolution.

@vchelaru you should still be able to publish your app to the stores? You just cant debug to iOS 18 device yet

You should be able to publish a build to test flight and download/ install it onto a iOS 18 device

Currently also getting this exact output from running my MAUI Application in Jetbrains Rider on a physical IOS device. It shows all those errors, but the application does get installed and opened on the device. Only issue is the Debugger is not working then, I dont get any outputs or logging or breakpoints working. This happens after I was struggling for 2 days to get my macbook set up again after the xcode 16 issues with the newest update. Reverted to 15.4.
