I just updated the .net sdk, it still force close on ios simulator.

2 years ago So summarizing this: you have all updated to the Visual Studio Preview that came out a couple of days ago (that would be v17.3 preview 2) and now you're unable to run your iOS apps? How are you running your iOS apps? With the remote Simulator connected to a Mac Build Host? Through Hot Restart?
If you run dotnet --version what does that tell you?
It seems this might be a tooling error though, in which case you might want to go into Visual Studio then the Help menu and Report Feedback and then report it that way. Then all the right logs etc will be included and it will be routed to the right team.

2 years ago @jfversluis In my case, yes. Before updating to v17.3 Preview 2, it was working fine with the same project (no code changes between the update of VS).
I'm running VS on Windows. The app runs on my paired MAC. The app starts just fine, then it hangs on the splashscreen. (saying in VS: XAML Hot Reload is initialized). After a while, VS says "XAML Hot Reload failed to be initialized" (freely translated from German to English).
In the same time this message pops up saying there was a timeout for the XAML reload to communicate with the remote application.

I use the simulator on my windows machine through the mac The screen goes blank after the splash screen
the debug window last line shows: '2022-06-17 20:51:58.949037-0700 VinoMatch[90297:1020918] [TableView] Warning once only: UITableView was told to layout its visible cells and other contents without being in the view hierarchy (the table view or one of its superviews has not been added to a window). This may cause bugs by forcing views inside the table view to load and perform layout without accurate information (e.g. table view bounds, trait collection, layout margins, safe area insets, etc), and will also cause unnecessary performance overhead due to extra layout passes. Make a symbolic breakpoint at UITableViewAlertForLayoutOutsideViewHierarchy to catch this in the debugger and see what caused this to occur, so you can avoid this action altogether if possible, or defer it until the table view has been added to a window. 2 years ago I have a similar issue coming up with my migration attempt from Xamarin Forms. I get an app that hangs on the splash screen until the app is force quit on the device without exception. I think its the splash screen timeout kill from the iOS app. works on Android without problems. Walked through the debugger and the CreateMauiApp method returns, the Shell code seems to run, but the root Page on my tabbar's onappearing is never invoked, and I only see the splash screen. No xamarin or other logging.

2 years ago Hello, I have the same problem.
I have tested the app from [edgiardina] and it starts on the IPad and then the App close. On the iPad Simulator the App starts (error API key).
I use VS 2022 Version 17.4.0 Preview 1.0.
It's easy to repoduce:
Create a new Maui App
Start on the IPAD => error
Start on the IPAD Simulator => works
Create a new Xamarin App
Start on the IPAD => works.

2 years ago So I would like to withdraw my complaint, for now. Yes, my repro does not start in iOS, but its due to Plugin.LocalNotifications nuget package, which while they are working on MAUI support, hangs the app on the splash screen (probably due to permissions or other issues). If I remove Plugin.LocalNotifications, I can get my app to boot in iOS again. The reason it breaks on the real device is probably related to permissions. The original poster may be referring to a different issue but my specific commetns can be disregarded for now.

Have also the same issue - VS is trying to run app on iOS simulator and exited with the error Could not connect to the debugger. I tried update everything (MacOS, Xcode, VS) and nothing helped. Also I installed VS 2022 for Mac 17.3 and it has totally the same issue.
Fortunately it's working with Mac device configuration, so I can continue migration, but it may block me soon.

An app cant run on iOS Simulator, app only showing splash screen, and immediately force close. I try to change to my previous commit, but all cant run on ios simulator.
