Blank WPML Language Switcher Widget #731

We've had 2 reports of WPML users whose language switcher widget id not rendering. May be related to a new WPML update, or not. There are some open issues on their site:

But these don't appear to exactly match the situation we're seeing, which is where we get zero rendered content from the widget whatsoever, not just mismatched css classes, etc.
