Mobile safari encounters memory issues when using large crossfade galleries. This is particularly a problem with large images in landscape mode (usually with background galleries).
Temporary solutions while we work out a fix:
Fewer galleries on a single page
Keep image count for these types of galleries down - testing showed things working fine with around 20 images in a background gallery.
