Original ticket description:
ProPhoto asks the web server to generate downsized images, but a feature of Siteground hosting appears to halt the execution of the downsizing process before it completes. When it does this, the server stores a "core file" on the server, documenting the execution stack for each process that is terminated.
Since ProPhoto requests downsizing many times per page request, this can trigger many thousands of "core files" to be stuffed on the web server file system in a very short time from just a few page requests. This can bloat the file system and sometimes cause the user hosting account to hit a max threshold.
