Port Disappeared After Flashing ghettovga.hex to arduino on macosx v 11.0 and above #1

Testing our two arduinos trying to add arduino-vga to run the appleii stuff. In both instances we lost port recognition on our macs running osx 11.6 and 11.8 respectively. Wondering if this problem has crossed your path before. Things we did to try and fix: 1) update drivers 2) recompile and reinstall hex

Neither of which worked. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance!
