1.1.3 jailbreak & I can't find my ebooks #94

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Jailbreak with the dev team 1.1.3 jailbreak
2. Download an ebook from the installer.app
3. Open ebook, no book shows up.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No ebooks listed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3.7

Please provide any additional information below.

I tried using finder to move the book, but that didn't work either. 1.1.2
worked fine.. did I break something on the upgrade.

Thanks

I fixed this by using SSH, logging in as root then running the following
commands:

cd Media
ln -s ../../mobile/Media/EBooks EBooks

This created a link between the files in mobile/Media and root/Media
Not the best solution but it'll work til the app is updated. Hope this helps.

see issue 92 I have posted an enhanced version of Books which should work
better with
1.1.3
You may have to erase your preference file first

there is an article on the wiki on how to do it:
http://code.google.com/p/iphoneebooks/wiki/RemovingPreferencesFile
I may add a button to refresh the preference file

Using latest binary from issue81, I was having the issue of not finding books
and it
was a case error. I had /var/mobile/Media/Ebooks, not EBooks. Once I changed
that the
program could find it.

Hope it helps.
