Describe your issue

When traveling to a certain chunk, all entities freeze and blocks no longer drop. You also can't take damage either. When looking at a block, I get red text saying "Waiting for server..."

I've tried waiting ~30 minutes when this error occurred and it didn't fix the issue.

When I try to exit the world, I get stuck on "Saving World" and I need to use task manager to kill the process.

Steps to reproduce the issue

Seed: -374725498367178753

  1. Coords to reproduce error: -27, 79, -48
  2. Press F3 + G to see the chunk barrier
  3. Walk forward 1 block North to: -27, 79, -49
  4. Bug will occur when entering this chunk. Screenshot is what the F3 menu is after the world freezes. Bug report

I also had this issue but just found a way to fix it but I don't know if it will work for you.

I came across a large Illager manor near a village and it started giving me the "waiting for server" issue. So it's probably a world generation issue possibly when too many special structures spawn near/next/on top of each other.

I lowered my render and simulation distance before I loaded the world (as low as they can be set) and slowly approached the danger zone/chunks when I loaded the world.

And bingo bango bongo it didn't cause the problem anymore.

@Oddstone3 I followed your advice and was able to narrow it down to about 2-4 chunks. Apparently there was some sort of bamboo mine shaft and that had a bunch of skulk sensors on top of redstone lamps. And when I was circling around this structure, it partially generated and then it stopped bugging my world.

Took me many tries and I made good use of the task manager. But I am to believe that the bamboo mine shaft is the issue. The structure was found at these coords: X:411 Z: -434 Some of the structure generated above ground.

Thank you for figuring this out, I'll investigate further

I'm also having a very similar issue, but I'm afraid I may not be as computer savvy. I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing the issue. Reducing the render distance like @Oddstone3 recommended did fix the issue, and I'm able to move around in the area where the issue starts but increasing it to even an 8 chunk render distance starts the "Waiting for Server..." issue again.

Oddstone3 commented 4 months ago

@Noirsette You might have done this already but try walking around in the problem area and load as much of it as possible but then go away from the area until it unloads. exit to the menu, increase the view and simulation distance, and then rejoin and approach.

I hope this helps but keep us posted, and to be honest it was just a wild random thought that appeared in my brain that led me to try doing it in the first place.

Post edit: Also, how much RAM have you allocated to your game profile and how much RAM does your computer have? If this sounds like computer wizardry nonsense then let me know.

Got the same issue now in two spots on our server, the issue is also reproducible in single player.

Different people reporting different structures. How exactly is this reproducible?
