Can't log into twitch with this browser #49

Open Slyfox88 opened 1 year ago

Slyfox88 commented 1 year ago

Is there any reason why I can log into twitch with other browsers but not this browser?

dr460nf1r3 commented 1 year ago

It might be the anti fingerprinting, as usual. Some websites don't really like it. See https://github.com/dr460nf1r3/firedragon-browser/issues/45

I tried disabling resist fingerprinting but that didn't work.

BenedettiLucca commented 1 year ago

Same problem here, tried disabling fingerprinting with no success.

Librewolf claims this is fixed - and I can confirm that it is after changing privacy.resistFingerprinting to false - however, FireDragon seems to still exhibit this issue.

Technetium1 commented 10 months ago

@TheEssem you're confirming on 117.0, right?

Indeed I am, yes.

Still can't log into Twitch with Firedragon 119.0. Resist fingerprinting is disabled and twitch.tv cookies cleared... still no luck. This is really quite a bummer and I hope it gets addressed soon.

I suggest you take a look at this comment here: https://gitlab.com/librewolf-community/browser/linux/-/issues/328#note_1190564784

Could you explain what you are referring to exactly? I have read all comments everywhere regarding the issue including that one, and have followed all steps and it still doesn't work. From what I've seen, it appears that the consensus is that this issue was fixed in Librewolf but for some unknown reason did not carry over to Firedragon.

privacy.firstparty.isolate was already disabled on my install and appears to be disabled by default anyways.

I solved this issue by copying the fingerprint header from another browser and it seems to work after that.

dr460nf1r3 commented 1 month ago

Thanks for reporting this, which one was it? It might make sense to make this one a default to fix it for everyone.

Back when it was based on Librewolf, no amount of tinkering with settings would make Twitch allow login from Firedragon. However, this issue has been resolved ever since the Firedragon base was switched to Floorp.

Although the problem still exists out of the box, if you change all the security settings to match default Firefox and change the user agent string to the latest Firefox, Twitch login will work.
