This is a weird one, because I can't recreate the exact context when it happens.
In any case, a fix is to add this line to your preamble:
\DeclareTextCommandDefault{\nobreakspace}{\leavevmode\nobreak\ }
My guess is that this should go into the dragonfly-latex-template too, but I don't really understand why.
