Looks like you are missing a fullstop at the end of the thesis title. I see

Carroll, E.L. (2011). Return of the right whale: assessment of abundance, population structure and gene-
flow in the New Zealand southern right whale Doctoral dissertation, The University of Auckland,
Auckland, New Zealand.

(no need to bump the debian version when you fix this).
