7 months ago you can put mpv option below at /switch/Switchfin/mpv.conf as work around for now
slang=enGB,en-GB,en,eng,enUS,en-US,unknown
alang=ja,jp,jpn,enGB,en-GB,en,eng,enUS,en-US

Add a setting which allows you to select the default subtitle and audio language.
Describe alternatives you've considered
One option would be good but could also implement a list of preferred languages which it would default to in order.
