Needs the TAB -->| key on the keyboard to work #471

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On Motorola Droid, pressing ALT-A does nothing, although there's a -->| tab
symbol on top of the letter "A".
2. On Motorola Droid 3, pressing the actual tab -->| key does nothing either.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expected pressing the tab key would get me a tab character. On my new Droid
3, since there is no right SHIFT button and only one shift button for the
directory shortcut setting (which works for Motorola Droid since there are two
shift keys), there's no way I can bind the shift key to tab. There is, however,
an actual TAB key on Droid 3, but it's not functional in Connectbot.

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?

1.7.1.2010.10.08

What type of system are you trying to connect to?

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?

$TERM = screen
OS = FreeBSD 6.2

Please provide any additional information below.
Hardware: Motorola Droid 3

Same issue on LG Ally:
Pressing Alt-Q does nothing despite the -->| symbol above A.

Another vote for getting the Droid3 physical tab key working.

Connectbot is awesome!

The issue also exists with the XT860 from Bell Canada (phone is very similar to
the Droid 3).
v 1.7.1.2010.10.08, $TERM=screen. Host is running the 3.0.3-ARCH (Arch Linux)
kernel. Terminal shell is bash.
This had previously worked on my Milestone using alt-A, but the XT860 which has
a hardware tab key doesn't work. I figured I'd chime in as well.

Same issue with ASUS Transformer Tablet. It has a keyboard doc that provides
all the keys needed.

I would love it if alt was alt, shift was shift, ctrl was ctrl and tab was tab.

Same with Motorola XOOM. TAB key doesn't work. Have to go through ctrl+I. Very
annoying

Fun fact for the Asus transformer: the right shift key seems to perform the tab
function. At least, it's doing tab complete in irssi for me...

I had the same issue and get into the code. I didn't saw this issue first, so I
posted another one with the full diff from the last version's commit on master.

Works great!

HTC desire Z has a tab key and only one pair of Alt(Fn)/Shift keys. Tab doesnt
work(sounds a bell), using shift as tab helps, but i'd still like being able to
use tab as tab too :)
