What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?

What type of system are you trying to connect to?

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?

Please provide any additional information below.

This one is empty, sorry about that, tried to submit via my android device and
accidently touched the submit button before I could fill anything in.
<BR>(BTW: the main fill in form was apparently not recognized as a fill in
field from my android device (a vpad7 from viewsonic), the add comment field
was and I could use the on-screen (virtual keyboard with it) But that is
another issue)
<BR>Ok thus <B> Steps to reproduce: </B>
<BR>1. connect to a ssh-server, fill in server-name, login password.
<BR>2. successfully connected (I have a welcom message from the server and a
prompt, when I go out the session back to the main screen of connectbot there
is a green icon= "connected"), but on-screen keyboard has disappeared, seem
unable to get it back, unless when I leave the session for the main app or
another app.
<BR>3.I can go back to the open session but can't get that on-screen keyboard
there, I tried touching the screen, I seem able to get some ~~ and ^D to the
screen but that's all and it is blind.
<BR>4. when I touch the bottom of the screen a keyboard icon appears in the
right bottom corner and in the left bottom corner there is a CTRL and an ESC
icon.
<BR>5. the gravitation steered tilt screen works, and it makes no difference in
behaviour whether I use the portrait or landscape view.
<P>
<B> Expected Output </B>
<BR>Having an on-screen keyboard in the session, I see pitch black instead.
<P><B>Version</B>
<BR>I tried connectbot 1.7.1 and connectbot-pslib 1.7.1, same problem
<P><B> remote host info= what kind of system</B>
<BR>Linux eowyn 2.6.32-33-generic #70-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jul 7 21:13:52 UTC 2011
x86_64 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS
<P><B> more info </B>
<BR>Output of "uname -a" see above= it is the top of the welcome message and
"echo $TERM does not work since I can't type anything.

ok no HTML tags :-)

It concerns a viewpad7 or vpad7 from viewsonic

I installed the andriod app "hackers keyboard" must change the input method,
but that is described in the help of hackers keyboard.
This works fine best in landscape but also in portrait mode
