fast cron

2 minutes OK?

with or without "rsync-early = no" hack to lower load?

altca.tal only

Sure you don't want the others we're using on cache0.vmini? That's currently: altca.tal, apnic-testbed.tal, jpnic.tal, ripe-pilot.tal.

some sort of install option?

I'm thinking that for something this simple it's not necessary to go the package route. How about a simple script that comes with the base package but which tells the user that these settings are only appropriate for the workshop environment and makes the user answer "yes" or "no" when asked if we should proceed?

I have a hard time mustering much sympathy for a user who can manage "apt-get install" but can't manage "rpki-rp-workshop-setup" followed by "yes".

and jitter to go with it

Right. For 2 minute cron cycle I've been using 1 minute jitter. Doesn't matter so much if it's only altca (we know whom to blame if we beat up our own servers) but would rather not use zero jitter if beating up other people's servers, even test servers.

seems ok

load not a problem unless we're in a/p

i forgot to ditch the a/p. then again, the next workshop is in xi'an > I'm thinking that for something this simple it's not necessary to go > the package route.
