Audit Defense Preparation #70

In talking with one of Epic's customers (Farm Workers), they expressed interest in Audit Defense Preparation. Under the current version of UDS, they are sometimes audited when there's a big change in the Quality Measures or Demographics numbers year-over-year. Epic provides them the list of patients that make up the counts, and some supporting detail.

With UDS+ being new, and somewhat intimidating, it would be good to know what the expectations will be around audits and how they (as a healthcare organization participating in UDS+) and we (their vendor wanting to support them) should be getting ready.

The new ReportingParameters supports the ability to provide the details of the patients who are satisfying the different calculations (NUMERATOR.DENOMINATOR etc) for a quality measure. As far as the audits go, we will let HRSA comment on it.

UDS+ does not have any new auditing requirements currently, vendors should continue to support any auditing capabilities that were already provided for UDS program. In addition, vendors are welcome to provide feedback on types of capabilities that would be useful to help the Health Center for auditing which can be considered by the program for future versions of the IG.
