Solution to OBS virtual cam #56

I didn't like having OBS open and Streamlabs using the OBS virtual cameras. Too clunky, too much CPU/RAM etc. So I was just going to go buy an HDMI splitter and another capture card. (HDMI splitter and elgato cam capture can work too. Cam capture is cheaper)

On the elgato website the new 4k60 pro says it allows to multiple applications at the same time. To cut down on chords, I went and bought one instead of the HDMI splitter and addtional capture card.

It works. However it is in beta. Steps to make it work.

Install 4k60 pro Install 4k capture utility from Elgato In the options of the 4k capture utility enable Stream Link Note that the instructions on the elgato website says that stream link only works if you have 4k capture utility open, but for me I was able to close it and still have Mario OCR and streamlabs see the video from the 4k60pro

This solution technically works, but it is very buggy. I got it to work twice for about an hour, but it is not consistent.

If anyone is wondering how they did it, it is an NDI technology. You can read an over view here.
