Can we have a shortcut key to new item on the items page and on the "success" page?

When you say success page, do you mean the page that shows all the details of the item you just entered?

How about a global hotkey like 'I', as long as you're not in a text field we'll send you to the new item page?

Yes, that is what I mean. The hotkey sounds good

I added a hotkey so now you can use 'ctrl+i' anywhere in the app to go to the new item page.

Note: that is ctrl+i, not command+i.
