How is sales tax/vat on line items implemented?

Is VAT/Sales Tax supported by this integration? I can't find references to it in the code.

e.g. we currently support (via other payment gateways with CiviCRM), event bookings in the UK where:

• the food is taxable at 5%
• the t-shirt/mug is taxable at 20%
• the non educational event sessions are taxable at 20%
• the educational event sessions are exempt from tax

We would like to move to using stripe as the integration looks good and the features of the stripe payment gateway cover what we need. We are just wondering if the integration does too? or perhaps we will need to help add variable taxable line items as a feature?
