Whitelist other protocols #86

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Currently the Android App is whitelisting only data sent for http* protocols,
but in the long time it can be useful to whitelist other ones like market://,
tel:// and sms://, maybe also mailto://

This will allow to implement things like issue 84 or use the context menu on
those links when it's released as stable
(http://code.google.com/chrome/extensions/trunk/experimental.contextMenu.html)

The latest release of sendtophone for Firefox v1.0 supports "market://",
"tel://" and other protocols. See http://url.ie/70yo

However this relies on a proxy to redirect the link, this issue is still open
until the server/apk are updated to support other protocols.

Is it possible, maybe adding as feature, send SMS Text from brower?
Using the protocol sms:+123456 looks like it open SMS app in Android but is it
possible to specify the body text?

something like:
sms:+391234566?body=Hello from Android
Thanks

BUMP!
Just bumping this issue as the context menu for Chrome is being worked on, now
might be a good time to update the client side to handle other protocols.
