I'm in touch with the Mobian developers about including the bes2600 driver in their distribution. According to the them "[Danctnix] needs to get us a license for that code, and permission to redistribute the firmware (ideal OFC the source code itself)."
From what I can tell, the driver source code is entirely GPL 2, so there shouldn't be an issue with copying and redistributing. I don't understand why Mobian/Debian needs the firmware source code (I don't think anybody else has asked for it), but I understand that's under a proprietary licence. Does that licence allow redistribution?
