Hi. I wonder if there is a function to show the gene expression pattern/distribution base on the distance to another gene? #528

Hi Giotto team, I am using the function of neighborhood analysis, and I really appreciate it. And then I wonder whether we have the function to show gene reads related to distance clearly. Which would be wonderful to help us to get the "ladder" information on signals and cell location. Here is the example of the figure I wish:

function

Thanks a lot!

Hi @GCatatGC ,

In theory this is quite straightforward but also dependent on the specific dataset and question.

For example, would the distance be along a specific straight/curved path (starting from a feature or cluster) or would it rather be more a concentric distance.

And would you start measuring from the centroid or any point within a cluster? As you see there are lots of considerations with this type of approach and each analysis will give you different results.

Anyway, we would be happy to think about how this could be best implemented to provide maximal flexibility.

Best, Ruben

Hi RubD, Thanks for your reply. No wonder you are correct, we need more specific question.
