Heya, sorry it took me this long to get to this. Thanks for your PR. I took a different approach as you can see. Implementation is done, I just need to adjust all the tests. Not sure when I'll get to that.

@driesvints Another approach indeed. Mine was meant to modify the existing code base as little as possible.
