Here I would like to discuss what is going to be the ethical guidelines of running the org and how to treat contributors, maintainers, users, the code, the data, and what type of license to use.

Can elaborate more on this some other time, however, but there is a lot of literature is out there already about how to run things as open source and ethical. If we allow users the ability to store their data on their own, control their data when someone else is hosting it, allow them to see the decisions being made and contribute to the decision, and allow them to modify the source code as they please. This treats them as people and not as things that we can make decisions for them. There is going to be some arbitrary decisions that there is no a priori answer for, and after discussion in the interested parties, whatever is reached is reached and can be reversed if it is a bad decision or unethical.
