Chimney is not ventilated. #14

According to the survey, and common sense, there should be a vent in the chimney breast (front room) so that there is an airflow through the chimney.

A friendly advisor suggests routing out a slot (say 20mm high by 400ish wide) at the bottom on the skirting board. I guess you still have to have some sort of hole behind.

Build who did plastering said it wasn't necessary. We have plastered it all in.
