Short section of banister is loose #17

The wall/plaster holding it has been poorly repaired.

A neighbour has basically the same handrail, but the fixing to the wall is exposed: it is a handrail bracket (like this http://www.morehandles.co.uk/handrail-bracket-heavyweight-carlisle-brass-aa84.html?gclid=CNrbgo2wjbsCFSYHwwodnzYAlA) screwed to a wooden plate fixed to the wall. I suspect we have the same stuff, but buried under 25mm of plaster.
