Hi Kevin, I use KR with the alignAPI witch use now Jena 3.0. This release is of Jena change all namespaces (from com.hp.hpl.* to org.apache.*). Do you plan to upgrade KR to this new release ?

Thanks,

Nicolas

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for the interest.

Is the only / primary change in Jena 3.0 a namespace one? and the functionality remains intact? Seems some changes, that might be benign to KR regarding literals. Also Java 8 is required?

I've had a few major life events recently, good; but consequently I haven't exactly been on top of the state of Jena and Sesame, so things may be a bit out of date. Also, I'm unfortunately no longer paid to maintain this library, although I am interested in keeping it alive. So, it might take me a little bit to set up an environment to test this. But I want to. I'm also more than happy to take a look at patches. Also can you test off of HEAD in the repository? then we can try it, before pushing the jars. I can also show you how to build the jars locally with maven.

I see a couple thing for alignAPI when I Google it, are you talking about this one? http://alignapi.gforge.inria.fr/

Do you have any hard deadlines looming, or what king of timeframe are you looking at too? (I can't make many promises, but I can at least be aware.)

Thanks, Kevin

Hi Kevin, thanks for your reply. Yes, you need Java 8 and yes I use the alignapi you founded, the maintainer just upgraded it to Jena 3.

I thought the only changes were on namespaces, but it seems some classes were upgraded, for example : org.apache.jena.riot.system.RiotChars witch is on both version has no more charInArray method ...

I do not have a hard dead line for this part. But I would be happy to participate to upgrade kr-jena to Jena 3. I will tell you when I will be ready for this ;-).

Best regards,

Nicolas
