Default microphone icon shows for all ratings in private windows #28

Summary

In private windows, no matter the rating of the website I'm on, the extension icon shows the default red microphone. Clicking the extension, however, shows the normal text for that rating.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to about:addons in Firefox and click on the MBFC extension
  2. Select "Allow" under "Run in Private Windows"
  3. Open a private window
  4. Go to a rated website, like https://www.reuters.com/
  5. Note that the default red microphone is showing, which would indicate that the website is not rated
  6. Click on the icon.
  7. Note that the popup shows that it is rated.

Expected Behavior

The proper icon, such as the "C" icon in the case of Reuters, should show instead of the default red microphone.

Device Info

macOS Monterey 12.1 Firefox 96.0.2 (64-bit) Media Bias/Fact Check Extension 3.3.0

I have not tried to reproduce this on a different browser or operating system

Huh, good catch. I've never enabled it in a private window to test. I'll dig into this
