Automatic disable an unresponsive sensor #728

is it possible to include a quick test to automatically disable the optical 
flow sensor if there is no movement on it?  I've left the lens cap on it twice 
now causing my hexa to jam itself into the ground on take off :-( 

I haven't yet added an ultrasonic sounder as yet, however I imagine that that 
should run through a similar 'safety' check to keep the copter air-worthy in 
the event of failure or stupidity.
