Might a single codebase ever be reached?

Thanks for the tip. Does pretty-mode turn off properly? (This is a big problem with my pretty-symbols mode -- disabling it leaves existing symbols in the buffer in their prettified form).

For personal use, I've never into that problem but cycling the mode is rare.

@akatov would know better than myself.
