Standard PNG settings different? #68

There seems to be a difference between the standard view in he main classification interface and the QD standard display. Is this a known issue or do you this jim may have used the wrong PNG settings?

e.g. VICS82_5005041

pngsettingsqd

The viewer is doing anything special but reading the FITS file and putting it on a canvas. I'd double-check that the generated pngs are correct.

OK, will do - if the PNGs are made with different scales, we can adjust the QD to match any time.

i dont think it's worth making the QD standard match the PNGs in the main classifier and the QD standard is actually brighter. so if the PNGs have been made incorrectly we should leave QD as it is (i.e. it's like having 4 contrast settings than 3)..

I am worried we will miss systems in the main interface as the images look v dark, qd standard is often very useful (noise is more obvious though).

OK, let's leave it as is then, and see how it goes. Good we have the QD working! Amit will be pleased.

i'd still like to know why this is different....something about the QD implementation or PNGs made wrongly.
