AMCU does not ignore files #218

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to Update moves tab
2. Select Operation "Update Record" and Check "Update all records"
3. When a window pops asking to especify the movie for any file, press "always
ignore"
4. When the update finishes, do it again.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should ignore the file in every update. But the window for that file pops
again. And, if you press again the "always ignore" button, the movie is
repeated in the MyFilmsAMCExcludedMoviesFile.txt

What version of My Films and MediaPortal are you using? On what
operating system (and language if other than English)? What Skin are you
using? What Catalog type (i.e. AMC, XMM, DVD Profiler, etc)

I can confirm - and after diggig in the code, it seems, that the usage of the
"MyFilmsAMCExcludedMoviesFile.txt" did never work (at least looking back a year
or so).
The reason, why it worked was, that AMCU added it to the "excluded Files" on
Scan Path Tab as well - however, I am not yet sure, why this doesn't work
anymore - probably because you have not "saved" config before rescanning? (Thus
that tab content wasn't saved to disk).
So before I fix this let me ask:
Do we prefer handling excluded movies via the
"MyFilmsAMCExcludedMoviesFile.txt" - as it is "intended" originally - or do we
prefer to handle it by creating entries in the "excluded files" tab?
I am asking, because if you prefer variant 2, we could drop/remove the usage of
the separate exclusion file - however, user would have to SAVE, as exclusions
would be saved in AMCUconfig itself.
So let me know what you prefer.
(Set to "Docs req" due to possible change in behaviour and targeted to MF6.0.0)

I would rather take option 1, but I wanted to read more opinions on this

Based on discussion, we'll remove redundant settings for movie catalog file and
excluded movies file - removing the two on update tab.
We'll fix the issue, that the excluded movie file isn't used for manual updates.
The file pattern, that is currently "misused" for the importer will be fixed
too, so importer also will use excluded movies file as intended.

Since we decided to stick to the original method, I changed Docs to NotReq
