Better error handling when no config present or skin files missing #297

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On first time install, there is no config existing.
If user installs via GUI and tries to start MyFilms, it detects missing config,
but does not properly return to main screen.
2. With new Titan skin, there is no skin files existing, if the user chooses
titan on install, but does not install the titan extended package.
This situation should also be properly handled to avoid user confusion.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
If config or MyFilms skin files missing, user should be informed and plugin
should return to main screen without throwing exceptions.

As reported in the Testing Conversation, I can confirm that in build 2796, you
now get a nice-ish dialog when My Films config is missing and can return to the
previous/home screen.

There may be other unique cases, but I doubt we will find those until we
release the fix and get wider testing.

Should Titan skin files be included in MF installer in future? Might be risky
if they are updated in both MF and Titan extended?
