Import my Movies Collection Manager exportet xml File #368

it would be great if you could add an import function for My Movies exportet
xml file so myFilms could use this file as reference instead of the AMC.

One of the most imortend reason would be the Group / Box function of myMovies.

You can create a group/box-set easyly with cover and description, basically
with same data as for a movie itself. You simply have to add the movies to the
box/group using the Box-Set-Option of MyMovies Colletion Manager.
The grouped Movies then added as child to the xml data of the group/box-set
mainfolder.

Example:
    <ChildTitles>
      <ChildTitle strWebServiceId="93c4033c-3911-445b-bf1b-4f66a9dab57c" strTitle="Der Herr der Ringe: Die Gefährten" strUPC="7321921238567" strId="3" />
      <ChildTitle strWebServiceId="6ce86600-8885-490a-93af-db0505a43365" strTitle="Der Herr der Ringe: Die Rückkehr des Königs" strUPC="7321921339813" strId="5" />
      <ChildTitle strWebServiceId="d0c24664-2aba-4be8-a696-3ee9a1793e97" strTitle="Der Herr der Ringe: Die zwei Türme" strUPC="7321921286872" strId="4" />
    </ChildTitles>

The grouped/box-set files could be identified by strWebServiceId, strUPC or by
strId cause every child contain these data inside its <title> container.

I will attach a sample of an exportet xml file with 1 Movie and a group with 3
Movies (Herr der Ringe) as Group with cover and informations and the 3 patrts
as grouped Movies with informations and cover.

Normaly myMovies stores covers in C:\ProgramData\My Movies\FileStorage\Covers
but they are also stored inside the moviefolder itself (mymovies-front.jpg and
mymovies-back.jpg) as hidden file (depends on settings of myMovies).
Maybe you could also add a option to chose weather to use the cover from the
movie folder or the cover linked in the xml file.
If you choose to use the mymovies-front.jpg file as cover you will be able to
use your moviecollection (for example on an external harddisk) on several
computers, you only have to import the mymovies.xml chose "use cover from
moviefolder, maybe also an option to specify the name (folder.jpg or
mymovies-front.jpg) and erverything would be fine and ready to use without
copying the mymovies filestorage path to your other computer.

Can you give some more details please:
- Which version of MyMovies?
- Are the movies only contained in Collections - or also as separate entries?
- We Import such XML by looping movie titles - so adding the collection to it
would require to check for an existing Collection entry for the respective
movie.
tnx

If you want me to add such a feature, I need some more input and feedback, if
there is still the need - otherwise I would close the request...
