App crashes when detecting USB - Nikon D40 #104

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open app.  
2. Connect Nikon D40 camera via USB cable and USB OTG.
3. Tap Search for USB camera.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Connection to camera; instead, see app crash.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Downloaded latest version from Play Store on 9/20/2013.  Android 4.3.  Samsung 
Galaxy Nexus.

Can you start the applicaton without pluging in your camera?

A logcat would help me to find the problem. D40 should work as I added support 
for it according the documentation.

Sorry it took me a while.  Here is the log:

Steps were:  
1.  Open DSLRDashboard app.  
2.  Plug USB cable into camera and plug other end into USB OTG adapter.  
3.  Plug adapter into phone.  
4.  App crash.  
5.  Re-open app.  
6.  Tap Search for USB Camera.
7.  App crash.  
8.  Repeat steps 5-7.

Can you tell me in what exposure mode is your camera when you connect it?

It is in the Auto (No Flash) mode.

Yes, it does!  It looks like I can even switch to auto mode as long as I do so 
after the connection to the camera is established.

Will check Auto (No Flash) mode, think the problem is that the value that it 
has is the 'SCENE' value on newer models.

Yes,  I did notice that it said scene when I switched to the auto (no flash) 
mode.
