D90 Connection quirks #113

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect a D90 to the tablet via OTG cable
2. start the app
3. do any operation tha involves communication with the camera

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Small display (the one close to the shutter button of the camera) should show
"PC" instead of ISO setting
instead "PC" keeps on getting swapped with regular camera information (current
iso setting)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Nexus7 4.3 + D90

Please provide any additional information below.
I don't know if it's a major problem, but I noticed this behaviour
gphoto2 based apps don't show the same behaviour
I'm going to try using a shorter usb cable even if I'll probably go for the
wifi dongle

Sorry for late answer, it's my fail not seeing there are more issues open.

I'm not sure if I understand your problem.

No problem for the late answer: the license pricing is low enough for such a
SLA :)

I think the problem was cable-related
It looked like the camera kept on switching between p2p and normal camera mode
I mean several times over a couple of seconds

I was wondering whether this constant switching was something that could
potentially harm the camera or if it was just a logical switch

Is this something somebody else has already reported or am I the first one?

Anyway the issue doesn't appear anymore, (also because I didn't use this a lot)

Maybe I wasn't using the progrm properly or I was using a somehow faulty usb
cable

Either way I didn't have the chance to investigate much further.
As soon as I'll get the chance to reproduce the behaviour and narrow it down to
a reasonable culprit I'll get back to you, maybe with a video explaining the
issue

Nop didn't see such a report from other users.
Not sure what is the length of your USB cable, I only tested with USB cables
shorter then 1m.
