D300 does not change focus in stack #261

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Attach Nikon D300 to N7
2. Use the app to focus on a near point for the focus stack
3. Run a focus stack (5 exposures, 10steps)

What is the expected output?
5 images with focus in different planes starting with the initially placed focus

What do you see instead?
All images have the same focus plane, focus has not been adjusted between the
shots.
Focus is on center point instead of the initially placed focus spot.

What version of the product are you using?
0.30.330

On what operating system?
CM11

Please provide any additional information below.

Camera is set to raw.

I've tried with the refocus flag and without (in the focus stack menu).

I sometimes get three exposures per step instead of one (all identical).

App alternates through host/camera mode while going through the shots.

Focus mode switch on cam is in AFS or AF-C, no change.

meanwhile I discovered the multiplatform version.
Basically the same result, no change in focus (and a hard time to set A and B)

And the same results with the D700.

On D700 you must set the live view to 'tripod mode' so that focus point
movement work and the focus mode must be set to AF-S

My cams are always set to tripod mode in live view.
And the cam is set to AF-S

As I wrote above, I can set the focus in live view in the app, so focussing
from the app works in general. It just does not focus while running the focus
stack option.

Does manual focus movement work with the focus arrows in the bottom of the live
view?
Can you try enabling 'Host mode' before starting the focus stacking?
Is the AF button red? If yes can you long press the AF button to disable 'auto
focus before capture'

Yes.

It is already active.

Neither label nor button background are red.

But something is different in this session.
Now I hear the AF going though the whole range but the image is totally out of
focus.
Independent of whether the AF label is red or not.
