Merge forum categories to one category #15

Open beltofte opened 12 years ago

With the activity we have on the website would it make sense to merge the categories to only one, and maybe allow people to use tags instead in topics? This would also make it possible to get rid of the ugly /forum page.

@mortendk @wulff @mikl @RockyMtnPige please comment on this.

I agree with you- and putting them together would make one less click to get to the forum.

Yeah, I'd agree that the current breakdown doesn't make much sense, and yes the forum landing page is pretty bad. Would it make sense to have a base category vocab with a few things to pick from, like "i need help", "drupaldanmark.dk problems", or whatnot? And then also have free tagging maybe?

beltofte commented 12 years ago

Hmm.... Yes, it might make sense to have a few categories. For example:

Not sure which category we should merge "Oversættelse af Drupal til Dansk" into, or maybe we should keep it if the translations team are using it. @wulff what do you think?

When posting a new topic and choosing a category would it be a good idea to show a one line description with info about the category.

Free tagging is also a good idea. It should be easy to implement. Just need some theming of it probably :-)

I think the "Oversættelse af Drupal til Dansk" content could easily be merged into the "Spørg om hjælp" category, so a +1 from me on that.

Ideally, most translation-related discussions should happen over on l.d.o anyway.
