Book club announcement:

DDI book club will no longer be meeting. If anyone is interested in taking the book club on, they have the blessing of the original book club team. Thanks to all who participated in our five month book club experiment! :books:

Thanks for running it, @sparklingrobots. Although I'm sad to see it go, I appreciate all the work you did to keep it going for as long as it did.

Would it be worth discussing the challenges? For me obviously, timing was hard. What if we had an article to discuss each week and people could drop in asynchronously? We could even do this without making it official, but just drop a link on Monday and see what comes up throughout the week.

I'm not sure whether that would help, and definitely don't want to make more work for anyone who is already busy.

Slight amendment to the book club announcement:

DDI book club is going to take a hiatus, since it's been hard to get attendance for the meetings, while sometimes articles posted at random times in the channel provoke good discussions instead. catch is thinking about trying to do a different format so we can still collectively read something without relying on a meeting time, but this needs a bit more thought. Thanks to all who participated in our five month book club experiment! If you have specific questions/suggestions please let us know. 📚

DDI Contrib Team Updates:

DDI Contrib Team is working to involve new folks from underrepresented groups in contributing back to Drupal. We're open to new members so if you'd like to work with us as a new contributor, a mentor, or a little of both, join us in #ddi-contrib-team.

The back end team is holding weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 10 am PST. We are looking for a PM to take the reins and keep everyone moving forward. Are you that person? Join us!

The front end team is still scheduling their weekly meetings, so if you want to help us build an amazing accessible D8 theme in an awesomely supportive environment, join us in #ddi-contrib-team.
