Modify LaTeX delimiter

Thoughout the first part of the book students are encouraged to use \\(\\) for LaTeX delimiters as this is technically LaTeX and $ is technically tex https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/410874

However in a couple of places this proves problematic, including the second part of the book with the use of markdown in the VScode plugin and in writing documentation.

It will be simpler to just "accept" the use of $ as the mathematics delimiter.

  • Explain the difference between the tex and latex delimiters.
  • Explain that Jupyter's renderer technically only supports the TeX delimiter https://jupyter-notebook.readthedocs.io/en/stable/examples/Notebook/Working%20With%20Markdown%20Cells.html#LaTeX-equations but that it can use the LaTeX delimiter although I do not recommend doing it that way in Jupyter.
  • Highlight that when using LaTeX natively it is better to use the LaTeX delimiter. Include this discussion: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/510/are-and-preferable-to-dollar-signs-for-math-mode
