I would be happy to try to PR this if it's a feature you'd be open to. There would of course be some ergonomic drawbacks to cluttering up the UI, and it might not be worth the hassle.
So far, living in a palace doesn't seem to do much, gameplay-wise, and I have not dug in the source in order to preserve an element of surprise and mystery.

I think it'd be fun if having the first level of palace built caused a fancy border or divider at the start of each year (maybe like something from https://www.asciiart.eu/art-and-design/borders), or a castle image (https://ascii.co.uk/art/castle) when it's completed or something.
Maybe future palace upgrades could make the border fancier. Or turn the year number announcement headline into a figlet or something.
