Talk about RSVP instead of Spritz #81

From Lifehacker:

Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) is a method used by most of the recent digital speed reading systems. Single words flash on the screen so you're concentrating on a single word at a time. As you get used to the system, you speed up how fast the display shows you words.

I think we should update the project description to talk about RSVP instead of Spritz. I assume it is the more general concept the project is seeking to implement.

Although it makes perfect sense, I think RSVP is a problematicchoice, because in french it means "respondez s'il vous plaît" (answer please) and is commonly used for responses to events and invitations and you'll see the term used for many calendar implementations and/or social networks...

maybe something with ORP? see source

Yep. But most acronyms have multiple meanings. As long as we talk about it unambiguously, and define it in full the first time it is used, I don't think there'll be any confusion.

I'm not sure how I feel about this idea. jetzt wouldn't exist without Spritz. Their novel contributions to RSVP, while remarkably simple, make it into something far more enjoyable and valuable than it is otherwise. Since jetzt has adopted these ideas, I wouldn't feel right about shunning Spritz. But it might be nice to give a brief description of RSVP in the readme for people who haven't seen it or Spritz before.

Ah, yes. A combined approach might be nice. Perhaps an intro that explains RSVP, and how the basics work. And then an acknowledgement about the work Spritz did, etc.
